The long list also includes a number of Polaris darlings - musicians such as Alvvays, Begonia, Zoon, Jessie Reyez, and Daniel Caesar, who've been nominated year over year for their entire discographies. The number of first-time nominees has gone up from last year (37 per cent in 2022 to almost 50 per cent this year), and they include Debby Friday, Mariel Buckley and Aysanabee.
